Senior Shuttle Bus Driver
Good for those who have a class B license and want a career/full time position as a shuttle bus driver
The candidate drives/operates a variety of passenger vehicles in support of the campus transit services on or off campus. A Class B California Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and air brake certification are required for this position.
Budgeted Salary: $27.09 hourly
Available Appointments
Partial-year Career: Full-time, 40 hours/week with 2-month summer furlough. Eligible for full benefits.
Limited: Part-time, 16 hours/week or 40%. Not eligible for benefits.

Disability Van Service Driver
Good for those with ride share or other passenger transport experience
This position will drive university-owned passenger vans under the supervision of the Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) Transit Manager and Assistant Transit Managers. These transportation services may be pre-booked or on-demand to transport UCSC affiliates on or between the residential and satellite campuses. A valid Class C California Driver’s License is required.
Budgeted Salary: $25 hourly

Shuttle Bus Driver Trainee
Good for those who wish to obtain a Class B license or those who have a Class A or Class B license without passenger certification.
This limited contract appointment will be trained by University staff over the course of approximately 1 (one) month to drive/operate a variety of passenger vehicles in support of the campus transit services on or off campus. The training will also include support to take and pass all required DMV testing for Class B licensing, which is a condition of continued employment. In addition to training, this position will drive university-owned passenger vans, which may include pre-booked or on-demand transportation for UCSC affiliates on or between the residential and satellite campuses. Upon successful completion of obtaining the Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and airbrake certification, Auto Equipment Operator Trainees will be eligible to apply for vacant Senior Auto Equipment Operator positions. This position requires a valid class C California Driver’s License.
Budgeted Salary: $25 hourly
